What is the most unusual way to get rich?

This guy is the man…
it’s that simple.
He embodies everything that is the American Dream, perseverance, opportunity, success, patience, warmth, and humility.
His story is one for the record books.
Sit back. Relax. It’s Hamdi time.
Step 1: Unsure of his birthday, Hamdi is born in İliç, Erzincan, Turkey and raised on a dairy farm near the Euphrates River.
Step 2: Hamdi moves to the U.S. in 1994 to study English at Adelphi University after receiving a degree in Political Science at Ankara University.
He had $3,000 at the time.
Step 3: It’s 1997, and Hamdi moves to upstate New York and takes a job on a farm.
Step 4: In the Spring of 2005, he notices a piece of junk mail advertising a fully equipped yogurt factory for sale in South Edmeston, New York. Turns out it’s Kraft Foods’ 84-year-old factory.
He toured the plant the following day.
His lawyer advised against buying it.
He bought it…
Step 5: Chobani is born, and Hamdi’s goal was to make an alternative to American-style yogurt, which he found to be:
  • sugary
  • watery
  • and artificial
Fast forward to 2017.
Step 6: LEAD A $5 BILLION YOGURT EMPIRE
No big deal.
  • The company employs 2,000 people
  • The company holds 50% of the U.S. greek yogurt share
  • Hamdi boasts a net worth of $1.92 billion
  • Hamdi gave 10% of his business to employees
  • Hamdi donated $2 million to United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees
  • Hamdi is named as an inaugural member of former President Barack Obama’s Presidential Ambassadors for Global Entrepreneurship (PAGE)
Hamdi happy.
Hamdi very happy.
